Asked to bat first, Perth Scorchers XI delivered another disastrous start in this tournament, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Openers Andre Fletcher (10) and Sam Fanning (9) departed early, while captain Ashton Turner and Usman Khan also failed to make significant contributions. At one stage, the Scorchers were struggling at 41/5, with Guyana's bowlers firmly in control.
