Developer / API Terms
Effective / Last Updated: August 23, 2026
These Developer Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Socialiya Developer Portal, Login with Socialiya (OAuth), APIs, SDKs, documentation, and related services (the “Developer Services”). By creating a developer account or using the Developer Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & account
You must be legally able to enter a binding contract and provide accurate account information. Keep your login credentials and client secrets secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account, team members you invite, and OAuth clients you create.
2. Website ownership & verification
You may only register websites and redirect URIs that you own or are authorized to operate. Socialiya may require meta-tag (or other) verification. Providing false ownership information is grounds for immediate suspension and deletion of clients.
3. OAuth clients, secrets & security
- Store client secrets only on secure servers; never in public frontend code, mobile apps, or public repos.
- Redirect URIs must match registered values exactly (HTTPS required in production).
- Use PKCE for public clients where applicable.
- Rotate credentials if compromised and notify Socialiya promptly of security incidents.
4. Scopes & end-user data
Request only the minimum scopes your product needs (e.g. profile, email, phone). Data obtained via Login with Socialiya may be used only to provide your stated service to the end user, in line with your own privacy policy and applicable law. You must not sell Socialiya user data, use it for unrelated advertising without lawful basis and consent, or retain it longer than necessary.
5. Consent, transparency & user rights
End users must understand what your app will access before they click Allow. Honor consent revocation, account deletion requests, and applicable rights under laws such as India’s DPDP Act and other privacy regulations where they apply.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Developer Services to:
- Phish, spam, distribute malware, or deceive users
- Impersonate Socialiya or another brand
- Circumvent rate limits, scrape, or reverse engineer beyond permitted API use
- Build surveillance, unlawful profiling, or discriminatory systems
- Violate any law or third-party rights
7. Branding
You may use “Login with Socialiya” buttons and branding solely to indicate authentication via Socialiya, following any brand guidelines we publish. Do not imply endorsement, partnership, or sponsorship without written approval.
8. Availability, quotas & changes
Developer Services are provided “as available.” We may apply rate limits, quotas, or paid plans, modify APIs with reasonable notice where practicable, and deprecate features over time.
9. Suspension & termination
Socialiya may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, security risk, abuse, or legal requirement. You may stop using the Developer Services and delete your clients at any time. Upon termination, you must delete Socialiya user data except where retention is legally required.
10. Intellectual property
Socialiya retains all rights in its platform, APIs, and branding. You retain rights in your application, subject to the licenses needed for Socialiya to operate the Developer Services.
11. Disclaimer & liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer Services are provided without warranties of any kind. Socialiya is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits/data, arising from your use of Login with Socialiya or the Developer Portal.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify Socialiya against claims arising from your application, misuse of user data, or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory statutory rights, disputes shall be subject to the competent courts/tribunals at Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes may be communicated via the Developer Portal or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Developer Services.
