Venkatesh Iyer Leads a Batting Masterclass

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Indore Pink Panthers unleashed an aggressive batting display from the outset. The star of the innings was captain Venkatesh Iyer, who remained unbeaten on a breathtaking 87 off just 42 balls.

Iyer's innings featured 7 fours and 7 sixes, striking at an astonishing rate of 207.14, as he dominated the Gwalior bowling attack throughout the innings.

Supporting him brilliantly was Siddharth Patidar, who stayed unbeaten on 55 runs from 29 deliveries, smashing five boundaries and three sixes. The duo ensured the Panthers finished strongly after an explosive start from wicketkeeper-batter Atharv Joshi, who scored 46 off 25 balls.

The Panthers crossed the 200-run mark comfortably and finished on an imposing 221/3, one of the highest totals of the season.

Gwalior Bowlers Struggle

The Cheetahs' bowlers found little success on a batting-friendly surface. Akash Raghuwanshi was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets, while Kartik Parihar chipped in with one wicket. However, the rest of the attack struggled to contain the flow of runs.

Gwalior's Chase Falls Short

Chasing a mammoth target of 222, Gwalior Cheetahs started positively through captain Rajat Patidar and Kartik Parihar.

Parihar played a fighting innings of 71 runs from 46 balls, striking 11 boundaries and a six, while Rajat Patidar contributed a quick 37 off 19 balls.

Despite their efforts, the required run rate kept climbing as wickets fell regularly. The middle order failed to build on the strong platform, and the chase gradually slipped away from Gwalior.

The innings eventually ended at 157/7, leaving them well short of the target.

Saransh Surana Wreaks Havoc

The standout performer with the ball was Saransh Surana, who produced a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for 24 runs.

Surana dismantled the heart of Gwalior's batting lineup and earned the highest bowling figures of the match. Shivam Shukla also impressed with 2 wickets, while Akash Rajawat chipped in with one wicket.

The Panthers' bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings, ensuring Gwalior never seriously threatened the target.
