Namibia produced a batting masterclass to defeat Hong Kong, China by 30 runs in the fifth match of the Namibia T20I Tri-Series 2026. A sensational century from Jan Frylinck helped the hosts post a massive total of 230/6, before their bowlers restricted Hong Kong to 200/6 despite a spirited chase.
Frylinck received excellent support from Junior Taanyanda, who scored a quick-fire 56 off 33 balls, while captain Gerhard Erasmus added a blistering 31 from only 15 deliveries. Their attacking approach pushed Namibia to an imposing 230/6 in 20 overs.
For Hong Kong, Nasrulla Rana was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets for 24 runs in a superb spell. Aizaz Khan picked up two wickets but proved expensive, conceding 56 runs.
Chasing a daunting target of 231, Hong Kong responded positively through captain Babar Hayat, who blasted 60 runs off 31 balls, including six towering sixes. Wicketkeeper Zeeshan Ali contributed a well-made 53, while Shahid Wasif added a rapid 34 from 17 deliveries to keep the chase alive.
However, Namibia's bowlers maintained control during crucial stages. JJ Smit delivered an outstanding spell of 2 wickets for 17 runs, while Jack Brassell also claimed two wickets. Bernard Scholtz and Ruben Trumpelmann chipped in with one wicket each to halt Hong Kong's momentum.
