West Indies Women secured a hard-fought 5-wicket victory over Sri Lanka Women in the 17th Match of Group 2 at the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in Bristol. After a disciplined bowling performance restricted Sri Lanka to just 98 runs, the Caribbean side chased down the target in 16.1 overs despite losing five wickets.
Sri Lanka endured a disastrous start after being sent in to bat. Star batter and captain Chamari Athapaththu and opener Vishmi Gunaratne were dismissed for cheply . Harshitha Samarawickrama also departed without scoring as Sri Lanka slumped to 9/3 inside three overs.
Middle-order batter Kavisha Dilhari attempted to rebuild the innings with a steady 21 runs, while Nilakshika Silva top-scored with 30 off 26 balls. However, regular wickets prevented Sri Lanka from gaining momentum.
Kawya Kavindi added 17 runs lower down the order, but the innings never recovered from the early collapse. Sri Lanka were eventually bowled out for 98 in 19.4 overs.

Karishma Ramharack claimed two crucial wickets, while Chinelle Henry, Afy Fletcher, Aaliyah Alleyne and Ashmini Munisar chipped in with one wicket each.
