Leicestershire produced a superb run chase to defeat Sussex by 4 wickets in an entertaining Vitality Blast Cross Pool encounter at Brighton. A match-winning unbeaten half-century from Ashton Turner guided the Foxes to 180/6 in 17.4 overs, chasing down Sussex's total of 179 with 14 balls to spare.
After being put into bat, Sussex got off to a blistering start thanks to opener Harrison Ward, who dominated the Leicestershire bowling attack.
Ward smashed 69 runs from just 33 balls, including 7 fours and 5 sixes, striking at an impressive 209.09. His aggressive innings powered Sussex to 95 runs inside the first nine overs.
However, once Ward was dismissed by Liam Trevaskis, Leicestershire fought back strongly through disciplined bowling and regular wickets.
