Match Commentary
B0$ Two games, two dominant chases. Royal Challengers Bengaluru set the tone last night and now Mumbai Indians have taken it a step further, making a 220 chase look ridiculously easy. When Kolkata Knight Riders piled up that total, it felt like a close finish was inevitable. Instead, MI blew the game open early. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton came out swinging, cashing in big time during the powerplay, mirroring KKR’s own aggressive start. KKR’s inexperienced attack was under pressure straight away and Ajinkya Rahane’s injury only made things worse. Both Rohit and Rickelton brought up fluent fifties, putting MI firmly in control well before the halfway mark. Rohit’s brilliant 78 ended with a superb catch from Anukul Roy in the deep, but Rickelton kept the pressure on following his partner's departure. MI did lose a few wickets along the way, but the platform laid by Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton meant the chase was always under control and they were set to get it done comfortably. The bowling from both sides was largely ordinary, but it was Shardul Thakur’s three wickets and Bumrah’s tight overs towards the closing stages, that ultimately made the difference. Fireworks light up the Wankhede as a delighted Mumbai crowd soaks in a sweet win.
Anukul Roy to Naman Dhir, B0$, B1$ A flatter one around off, Naman Dhir stays put and bludgeons it over mid-off. A convincing 6-wicket win for Mumbai Indians with 5 balls to spare
B0$

Sunil Narine to Naman Dhir, 1 run, flatter through the air around off, knocked to long-off for one
B0$
Sunil Narine to Tilak Varma, B0$ Caught by (sub)Manish Pandey!! A wicket for Narine, but it's too late now. This was a slower through the air around off and Tilak Varma tried to smash it away. Loses his shape, miscues it towards long-on, and Manish Pandey in the deep takes a safe catch. B1$,

Blessing Muzarabani to Tilak Varma, 1 run, sliced through the off-side for one
B0$
Blessing Muzarabani to Ryan Rickelton, B0$ Ryan Rickelton Run Out!! 1 run completed. Another superb effort in the field by Anukul Roy. The bowlers are under the pump, but the fielding by Anukul Roy has been top-notch tonight. This was slapped towards long-off by the batsman and he took a single. Wanted the second as well, but Tilak sends him back. Anukul fires a flat throw at the bowler's end and the batsman was outside his crease. Muzarabani was in his way for a moment, hence Rickelton couldn't get back in. Not his fault, but a fine knock by the opener comes to an end. B1$

Blessing Muzarabani to Ryan Rickelton, 1 run, to long-off
Blessing Muzarabani to Ryan Rickelton, no run, short and wide outside off, Ryan Rickelton slaps it towards cover
B0$
B0$ Pollard and Jayawardene walk out to have a chat with the MI players, while the trio of Bravo, Nayar and Southee are out to have a chat with the KKR boys. The MI openers snatched the game away from KKR's grasps within the first half of the chase. Just a matter of time with only 38 runs required in 5 overs.

Kartik Tyagi to Tilak Varma, B0$, that's the first ball he's facing and he has smashed it away nonchalantly. Advances down the wicket and bludgeons this through wide mid-off as the ball races away to the fence. Mumbai Indians after a long, long time are probably going to win their first game of the season
B0$
Kartik Tyagi to Suryakumar Yadav, B0$ Caught by Rinku Singh!! That looked like a maximum for a moment, but SKY has been caught at the edge of the boundary at deep mid-wicket. It's Rinku Singh who takes a safe catch. This was a short ball and Suryakumar Yadav went for a pull, however, he doesn't get enough distance to clear the boundary. A rare moment of relief for the Knight Riders bowlers. Given the kind of batting to follow, they can't afford to breathe. B1$
Kartik Tyagi to Suryakumar Yadav, B0$ Caught!!

B0$
Varun Chakaravarthy to Ryan Rickelton, B0$, that has been slapped. This was slightly full outside off, Ryan Rickelton slaps it uppishly and manages to beat the fielder sprinting across at long-off. No chance of stopping that as it was absolutely powered by the southpaw. If he keeps playing like this, de Kock will have to warm the bench for most part of the season
Varun Chakaravarthy to Ryan Rickelton, no run, quicker through the air at the stumps, nudged down the pitch by Ryan Rickelton
Varun Chakaravarthy to Ryan Rickelton, B0$, goes wide outside off and misses the tramline by a long way

B0$ Feeling okay, lot of cramps, hopefully I'll be okay. 220-225 was a good total. Inexperienced bowling attack, but these boys will learn. MI batted well. (On his batting) I am still young, feeling good. Really happy with the way I am batting. Hopefully Green starts to bowl soon. We batted really well, finding the balance with the ball is really important. The question you need to ask Cricket Australia (when asked why Green can't bowl).
