Developer Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026

This Developer Privacy Policy explains how Socialiya (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Socialiya Developer Portal and Login with Socialiya as a developer or organization (“Developer Privacy Policy”). It is separate from the general Socialiya Privacy Policy that applies to end users of the Socialiya consumer app.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to developer accounts, team members, website verification, OAuth clients, and related portal activity. End-user Socialiya accounts that authenticate via Login with Socialiya remain governed primarily by Socialiya’s consumer Privacy Policy and the consents shown on the authorization screen.

2. Information we collect from developers

  • Account data: name, email, phone, password (hashed), organization name, terms acceptance time
  • Website & app data: site name, domain, homepage URL, verification tokens/status, redirect URIs, scopes
  • OAuth client data: client ID, hashed client secret, client name, status
  • Usage & security logs: login times, IP address, user agent, authorization events, API/token errors (as implemented)
  • Support communications: messages you send to Socialiya about the Developer Services

3. How we use developer information

  • Create and secure your developer account
  • Verify website ownership and operate OAuth (authorize, token, userinfo)
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Provide support, product updates, and service notices
  • Enforce Developer Terms and legal obligations
  • Improve the Developer Portal and Login with Socialiya

4. End-user data accessed by your app

When an end user clicks “Allow” on the consent screen, Socialiya shares only the scopes granted (for example name/username/photo under profile, email under email, phone under phone). You are an independent controller (or similar role under local law) for data you receive into your systems. You must publish a clear privacy notice to your users and handle that data lawfully and securely.

5. Sharing

We do not sell developer account information. We may share data with infrastructure/service providers (hosting, SMS, email, analytics) under contracts, or when required by law, or to protect Socialiya, developers, or end users from harm or abuse.

6. Retention

We retain developer account and client data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. OAuth tokens and codes are short-lived or revocable. You should delete end-user data from your systems when no longer needed or when the user requests deletion (subject to legal retention duties).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, hashed access tokens where applicable, HTTPS in production, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please protect your client secrets and report suspected breaches promptly.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including India’s DPDP Act where it applies), you may request access, correction, or deletion of your developer account data, subject to legitimate retention needs. Contact Socialiya support to exercise these rights.

9. Cookies & sessions

The Developer Portal uses session cookies (and similar technologies) to keep you signed in, protect against CSRF, and remember portal preferences. See also our Cookie Policy where applicable to the main Socialiya site.

10. International processing

Data may be processed on servers in India or other regions where our providers operate. We take steps appropriate to the nature of the data and applicable law.

11. Children

The Developer Services are intended for adults and organizations, not for children. Do not create a developer account if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Developer Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Significant changes may be notified in the Developer Portal or by email.

13. Contact

For privacy questions about the Developer Portal or Login with Socialiya, contact Socialiya support via the main website Contact page.
