India Post a Competitive 170

After being asked to bat, India's opening pair provided a solid platform. Smriti Mandhana played an elegant innings of 38 off 37 balls, striking six boundaries, while Shafali Verma entertained with a quick-fire 34 from 26 deliveries, including two sixes.

Jemimah Rodrigues continued the momentum with a composed 34 off 28 balls before retiring out in the final over as India looked to accelerate.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur then stole the spotlight with a excellent unbeaten assault of 56 from just 27 balls, smashing six fours and three big sixes at a strike rate of over 207. Her explosive finish reached India to an impressive 170/4 in 20 overs.

Captain Sophie Molineux was Australia's most successful bowler, picking up 2 wickets for 46 runs, while the remaining bowlers managed to contain the scoring during the middle overs.

Australia Respond with Confidence

Beth Mooney (22) and Phoebe Litchfield (24) rebuilt the innings before India struck twice to reduce Australia to 68/3, giving the Indian side hope of defending the total.

However, the experienced Ellyse Perry once again proved why she is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in women's cricket. Perry crafted a superb 56 off 38 balls, combining elegant stroke play with aggressive intent.

She found the perfect partner in Ashleigh Gardner, who delivered a sensational unbeaten 53 from just 29 balls, smashing three boundaries and three sixes to take control of the chase.

The pair added a decisive partnership that shifted the momentum completely in Australia's favour. Although Perry fell with only a few runs remaining, Gardner and Georgia Wareham calmly completed the chase with six balls to spare.
