Tazmin Brits Smashes Match-Winning Century

Batting first after winning the toss, South Africa posted a massive 208/1 in 20 overs, one of the highest totals of the tournament.

Captain Laura Wolvaardt provided a solid foundation with 45 runs from 36 balls, striking six elegant boundaries before being dismissed in the 14th over.

The star of the innings, however, was Tazmin Brits, who delivered a wonderful unbeaten 114 off just 69 deliveries. Her innings featured 15 fours and three towering sixes, maintaining a strike rate of 165.21 while dominating the Dutch bowling attack from start to finish.

Brits received excellent support from Annerie Dercksen, who blasted an unbeaten 37 off only 16 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Their explosive finishing partnership propelled South Africa beyond the 200-run mark.

Netherlands Bowlers Struggle for Control

The Netherlands found it difficult to contain South Africa's powerful batting lineup.

Hannah Landheer claimed the only wicket, dismissing Laura Wolvaardt to finish with 1/34. Spinner Caroline de Lange was the most economical bowler, conceding only 22 runs in four overs, while the remaining bowlers struggled against the aggressive South African batting.

Netherlands Lose Early Momentum in Chase

Chasing a big target of 209, the Netherlands never managed to build sustained partnerships and finished on 120/8 in 20 overs.

Openers Phebe Molkenboer (41) and Sanya Khurana (36) provided a promising start with a 58-run opening partnership. However, once the breakthrough arrived, wickets fell at regular intervals.

Sterre Kalis contributed 26 runs, but the middle order failed to capitalize as South Africa's experienced bowling attack tightened the screws.

South African Bowlers Seal Comfortable Victory

South Africa's bowlers complemented their batting effort with an outstanding all-round display.

Ayabonga Khaka starred with 3 wickets for 19 runs.
Chloe Tryon claimed 2/16, applying pressure through the middle overs.
Shabnim Ismail removed a key batter with her pace.
Nadine de Klerk added another wicket, while Marizanne Kapp and Nonkululeko Mlaba bowled economical spells that prevented the Netherlands from accelerating.

The disciplined bowling attack ensured the Netherlands remained well behind the required run rate throughout the innings.
